The Whipstick is a wooden short stick, made of wax wood, typically measuring the length of the user's arm plus one elbow, or approximately 48 to 56 inches. One end of the stick is slightly thicker, while the other end is slightly thinner. The thicker end is known as the "Put" while the slender end is referred to as the "Saw." The Whipstick can be practiced alone or in pairs, such as in "Whipstick Sparring." Basic routines include "13 Whip," "36 Whip," and "Gyro Whip," and involve holding the stick with one or both hands, using the tip, and frequently changing hands. Six sizes are available for the Whipstick: 48 inches, 50 inches, 52 inches, 54 inches, 56 inches, and 58 inches. They can also be cut down to your desired size.
